FUE Hair Surgery

FUE Hair Transplant

Follicular Unit Excision (FUE) is when the individual follicular units, that contain 1 – 4 hairs each, are removed individually under local anaesthetic. This method uses tiny donor sites specialised devices with a circular area as small as 0.6mm.

A follicular unit contains sebaceous glands, nerves, small muscles and fine hairs. This method allows the surgeon to transplant thousands of grafts in a single session, which will enhance the cosmetic appearance of the procedure

Each follicle is checked and dissected as necessary under a stereo-microscope in preparation for implantation.

How is FUE Performed?

Individual follicles are performed on the scalp, harvesting each grafts of hair separately.

The surgeon will then use a micro blade or fine needle to create the recipient site, where the hair will be placed. The recipient site is created in such a way so that individual grafts can be placed into the sites. The angle, position, density, amongst other things are vital to create not only a realistic hair line but also an artistic and natural result that is suitable for that patient.
